Dear valued customers,
This year marks 25 years since the start of The Kayak Centre! The business began with my vision to offer exceptional on water instruction, integrated with a retail environment that drew you back because of the knowledgeable staff, great products and unique environment. Today, my original vision for the business remains and it has truly been a journey and a special experience.
Thank you for being the central part of our adventure, whether you shopped with us in the early days of 9 Phillips St or visited our now-closed locations in Watch Hill or Warwick. If you spent an educational week on Block Island with us or just paddled out to the rock, or if you’re new to kayaking but appreciated the opportunity to social distance with us on the water this summer, you’re part of the Kayak Centre family!
We have met many wonderful people over the course of these 25 years and we would not be here today without your business, your friendship and your constructive feedback. I am appreciative and look forward to many more years.
Over the years there have been events that we hear time and time again are a pillar of our paddling community, and our annual Demo Weekend, is probably at the top of that list. This event normally brings in hundreds of dollars of donations and canned goods for the North Kingstown Food Pantry, and after having to cancel the event this year due to COVID, we want to keep the spirit of community alive and well. To celebrate our 25th anniversary, please join us in donating either non-perishable canned goods or a check (made out to the North Kingstown Food Pantry), which we will match up to a total of $2500.
Jeff
We will be accepting donations now through the end of the year. If you plan to drop off canned goods or a check, make sure you check our current hours on our website.
