Just wanted to drop yall a line and say thanks for the advice and time spent with me this past weekend. I took the Atlantic LV out on the water in Newburyport on Sunday and had a blast. What a great fitting and feeling boat!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to spend with myself and my daughter, Grace, while we were picking out our new kayaks. Jake, you are truly knowledgable about the kayaks and it is obvious that you are truly passionate about your work. I also had the pleasure of taking the Ocean Play 1 class which was not only a great learning experience but also lots of fun ( and Ken, I'm smiling). Everyone's helpfulness, kindness and just plain good natured fun was greatly appreciated and made for a stellar experience. I must admit, Grace wanted to sleep in her new kayak tonight. I'll get her out on the water soon enough.
Thanks again to everyone. Oh, and it looks like we owe everyone Slush-ees.

Jake,

You were so friendly and helpful last Thursday when I bought my kayak and gear.  I couldn't believe how much time you spent helping me!  I was extremely grateful that my car rack was set up for me - and that you patiently waited while I tested my strength (or lack thereof) and attempted to lift the kayak onto one of your employee's car racks.  In the end, I felt comfortable with my final selections because you were so good at explaining everything along the way. 

And today I was reminded again of how great you are!  Just a few days after my kayak purchase, someone hit my car :(  I was worried that the rack was damaged in the accident, and that it was not attached properly anymore.  I came by this afternoon and expressed my concerns, and again you immediately did what you could to help me and re-adjusted the rack on my car.  I really needed some peace of mind after a stressful week, and you gave that to me.  I can't explain how much that meant to me.  I know you were really busy at the time, and I really appreciate you coming out in the rain to help me.     

I am embarrassed that I only remember Jake and Brooke's names from last Thursday, but I can't remember the name of the third employee who helped me (Derek).  He also helped me today along with Jake when I arrived all stressed out about my car rack.  I apologize for my poor memory when it comes to names! 

By the way, I have been recommending The Kayak Centre to everyone I know.

Jake from the Kayak Centre provided outstanding service and the most competitive pricing I found in greater Boston (sorry Rhode Island, don't mean to reduce you to Greater Boston -- you are so much more) on the new Point 65 kayak line, personally delivering the boat at no charge to my house. Not sure that delivery deal would be available for all comers, but regardless, this was a very low-pressure sales experience from a store that clearly knows its kayaks and cares about the match between paddler and boat. Well-done, Jake! Would send all my friends and fellow paddlers here.

Hey Jake! 
We took our maiden voyage on Patchuag Pond as soon as we got home.  I thought it would take a while to get the seats and footrests ready and the console attached, but it took about 5 minutes and we were off.  We had a blast, although my rarely used shoulder and arm muscles are feeling a little cranky.  They'll just have to get over it already!  We had a great time.  Thank you for working with us and being patient with all our questions.  You guys are super!  We will recommend you to everyone, and if we need anything we'll give you a call.   Thanks again.

 Just wanted to let you know that we baptized my husband's kayak on Father's Day.

What a blast!  We brought it down to Third Beach and paddled for about three miles.  It was a short trip....but we just wanted to get the feel of the kayak and paddling on the ocean surface (the waves were awesome...I was in the front and it was like going for a log flume ride).  We are looking forward to our next trip, which we plan to paddle a little farther out.

Thanks again for all of your help and for making the kayak a nice surprise for my husband.  I'm sure we will be back again in the future, especially when the colder weather comes around.  Have a great summer!

 Just a quick note to tell you how AWESOME your staff at the Wickford store are . . .and I mean ALL of them.  I called one evening just prior to closing and was helped by a wonderful young woman, given prices and a quote, I arrived the following morning and was helped by a crew of fun, young, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, I was geared up with a kayak, paddle, seat, dry box, scupper stoppers, the works . . . and I have to state as a "large" paddler not one of your crew made me uncomfortable (like has happened in other stores).  I was in the water that day . . .and only now just got out to email you . . .but please, if you love your staff like I do get them air conditioning!  The only discomfort while waiting for my kayak to arrive from the warehouse was the heat!  Your store is awesome your staff is truly wonderful I have sent 3 others looking for the Drifter (angler) keep them in stock.  Your staff rocks!!!!   Thanks Again!

 Hey all--thought I'd pass this story from today along....
Carolyn and I were getting gas today at a station in Providence and a van with an Elaho Sport w/rudder pulled in to get gas next to us. I noticed a Kayak Centre sticker and I asked her how she liked her boat. Her response was "I love it!!"  I told her I worked at the Kayak Centre and she got very excited. She said she should be in an ad that promotes the store because she was so incredibly happy with the service she got 2 years ago. She went on for 5 minutes raving about the demo she did and the time that was spent with her. She couldn't say enough positive things about her experience with us and said she has talked about TKC every where she goes: Maine, New Hampshire, etc... Anyway, she said to pass it on, so I am. Her name is Sharon. Hope you're having a good weekend!

Hello Paddlers!

I wanted to report again about the Kayak Centre in Wickford, RI.  You may remember that I put in there with my sister, renting a more-than-adequate kayak and paddling around Wickford Harbor.  I left my kayak there, thinking it needed new rudder cables.  First, they called me to tell me that the rudder cables were fine - just looked loose - and then, when I went back Friday to pick up my boat; they didn't charge me a nickel!

Kayak Centre,

Yesterday we were up there testing out some of your kayaks.  Andy spent a great deal of time with the four of us.  We appreciated very much his time and effort and it was not wasted.  We will be back when Vicky and Cindy decide to purchase a kayak.  Karlyn and I bought our kayaks and all our equipment from you guys.  You are not only very knowledgeable but very friendly and willing to help.

 Just to tell you how much we appreciate you, three years ago around this time Karlyn & I went to . . .  and tried out a bunch of their kayaks.  I guess they didn't take two "single" females too seriously because nobody contacted us to see if we were interested in buying.  Then we drove up to see the Kayak Centre . . .and with all of your help and advice we decided to purchase.

Thanks again for providing the kayaks for today's event.  Paddling was without question the most popular activity of the day.  So popular in fact that Matt was swamped for the entire four hours.  A few others and I were impressed with how well he single-handedly processed such a marathon of kayak requests.  You should be proud to have him as an employee and I hope to see him back next year (perhaps with help).

Forward Air called a few hours ago and my boat has arrived.  Thanks again for the prompt delivery considering illness and some terrible weather.  I look forward to passing your store's name when I'm asked where I got my boat.  If any of you New Englanders get a chance to head south to east Tennessee, do not hesitate to give me a call for some day trips or camping.  We've got some great lakes/rivers that are perfect for us sea yacker types like Norris, Douglas, Cherokee, Tellico, and Fontana (across the border NC) Lakes, not to mention the Tennessee River that can take you to the Gulf.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Be thinking of me kayaking Christmas morning!
